Timeline

The Timeline shows important events and milestones across your workspace. Use it to track launches, deadlines, and other key dates.

What Goes on the Timeline?

The Timeline is for significant events that the whole team should be aware of:

  • Product launches and releases
  • Key deadlines and milestones
  • Company events and all-hands meetings
  • External events (conferences, holidays)
  • Cycle start and end dates
The Timeline is separate from objectives — it's for marking significant dates, not tracking OKR progress.

Creating Events

  1. Navigate to the Timeline page
  2. Click "Add Event"
  3. Enter an event title
  4. Select the event date
  5. Optionally add a description
  6. Choose a category or color

Event Categories

Organize events by category to make the timeline easier to scan:

  • Launch — Product releases and feature launches
  • Deadline — Important due dates
  • Meeting — Recurring meetings and events
  • Milestone — Significant achievements
  • Other — Everything else

Categories help team members quickly understand what type of event they're looking at.

Viewing the Timeline

The Timeline displays events chronologically. You can:

  • Scroll through past and future events
  • Filter by category or team
  • Click on events to see full details
  • Edit or delete events you created

Linking Events to Objectives

While events don't directly affect OKR progress, you can reference objectives in event descriptions. This helps provide context — for example, noting which Key Result a launch relates to.

Best Practices

  • Keep the timeline focused — only add events relevant to the team
  • Add descriptions to provide context for each event
  • Use consistent naming so events are easy to find
  • Review upcoming events in weekly planning meetings
