Getting Started

Welcome to Runsheet! This guide will walk you through setting up your workspace and getting your team started with OKRs.

1. Sign In with Google

Runsheet uses Google OAuth for authentication. Click the "Sign in with Google" button on the login page to get started. Your name, email, and profile picture will be imported automatically.

2. Create or Join a Workspace

After signing in, you have two options:

  • Create a new workspace — Start fresh with your own workspace. You'll be the owner and can invite others.
  • Join an existing workspace — Accept an invite link or join a workspace that matches your email domain.

Tip

If your company already uses Runsheet, ask a colleague for an invite link.

3. Set Up Your First Cycle

Cycles are time periods for your OKRs. Most teams use quarterly cycles, but you can configure this in Settings.

  1. Go to Settings → Cycles
  2. Create a new cycle with a name (e.g., "Q1 2025") and date range
  3. Set the cycle status to "Active"

4. Create Teams

Teams help organize objectives and track progress by group. Navigate to Settings → Teams to create your first team.

Teams can be nested to reflect your organizational hierarchy — Engineering can have Frontend and Backend sub-teams.

5. Invite Your Team

Go to Settings → Members to invite colleagues. You can send email invites or share a direct invite link.

  • Owner — Full admin access, can delete workspace
  • Admin — Can manage settings, teams, and members
  • Member — Can create and edit objectives

6. Create Your First Objective

Navigate to the Objectives page and click "New Objective". Every objective should be:

  • Qualitative and inspirational
  • Assigned to an individual owner
  • Associated with the active cycle
