Teams
Teams help you organize objectives and people by group. They can be nested to reflect your organizational hierarchy.
How Teams Work
Teams are optional groupings that help organize your OKRs. While objectives are always owned by individuals, associating them with teams makes it easy to filter and view progress by group.
- Teams can have members with different roles
- Teams can be nested (e.g., Engineering → Frontend)
- Objectives can be associated with a team
- Team pages show aggregated progress for all associated objectives
Creating a Team
- Go to Settings → Teams
- Click "Create Team"
- Enter a team name
- Optionally add a description
- Optionally select a parent team for nested hierarchy
Only workspace admins and owners can create and manage teams.
Team Hierarchy
Teams can be nested to any depth to match your organization:
- Example: Company → Engineering → Platform → Infrastructure
- Child teams inherit visibility up the hierarchy
- Parent team pages show objectives from all child teams
View your team hierarchy on the Overview page.
Team Roles
Each team member has one of two roles:
- Lead — Can manage team settings and members
- Member — Standard team participation
Team roles are separate from workspace roles — a workspace member can be a team lead.
Adding Team Members
- Go to Settings → Teams
- Click on the team you want to edit
- Use the member picker to add workspace members
- Assign roles as needed
You can also add yourself to teams when viewing the team page directly.
Team Pages
Each team has a dedicated page showing:
- Team progress summary
- All objectives associated with the team
- Team members and their roles
- Child teams (if any)
- Recent activity from team members
Access team pages from the sidebar or by clicking on a team name anywhere in the app.
Best Practices
- Keep team structure simple — don't over-nest
- Ensure every objective has a clear team association
- Review team progress in regular meetings
